LEGACY GIVING

As the Haberman Institute for Jewish Studies continues to expand its reach as a leader in adult Jewish education, securing our financial future is vital. Legacy Gifts ensure that the Institute can sustain primary programming, address rising costs, expand operations, and maintain financial stability through unpredictable economic landscapes. Through our Planned Giving Program, you can create a lasting legacy while supporting the future of adult Jewish education.

Why Consider Planned Giving?

  • Tax Advantages: As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, contributions to the Institute are tax-deductible and exempt from gift and estate taxes.

  • Flexible Giving Options: Legacy gifts can be structured via transfers under a Will, Living Trust, Life Insurance Policy, IRA, Retirement Plan, Lead or Remainder Charitable Trust, or a Gift Annuity. Under such vehicles, the types of property transferred can include cash, stocks, bonds, and, subject to certain restrictions, real estate and other assets.

  • Lasting Honor: Gifts of $50,000 or more can establish a named fund. The principal will generate annual support for specific Jewish education initiatives while permanently honoring your family's name.

The Haberman Heritage Society

Donors who include the Institute in their estate plans are invited to join the Haberman Heritage Society. Members of the Society will be entitled to receive special recognition and benefits. To join, donors may complete a nonbinding Declaration of Intent to memorialize their desire to promote the Institutes goal of providing adults with high quality, thoughtful encounters with Jewish thought, history, and culture.
